Precaution
1. Photosensitivity Warning (Crucial)
- Citrus Aurantium Bergamia (Bergamot) Fruit Oil contains natural furocoumarins, which can cause phytophotodermatitis (skin darkening or blistering) when exposed to UV light.
- Action: Apply a lip balm with SPF 30+ underneath if you will be in direct sunlight. Avoid exclusive use on sunny days without UV protection.
2. Allergic Patch Test
- Contains multiple botanical oils (Rosehip, Sunflower, Camellia, Flaxseed), Lactobacillus ferment, and Kava extract. If you have known sensitivity to nuts, seeds, or fermentation products, test on the inner arm or behind the ear for 24 hours before lip use.
3. Lip Condition Contraindications
- Active cold sores or broken skin: The occlusive polymer film can trap bacteria and delay healing. Wait until the area is fully healed.
- Chronic cheilitis (severely cracked lips): The microcrystalline wax and film formers may temporarily seal in moisture, but if lips are infected (yellow crust, oozing), discontinue use and consult a doctor.
4. Storage
- Store below 30°C (86°F). The high squalane and ceramide content can soften in heat; refrigeration is fine but let it warm to room temperature for 5 minutes before use to avoid breakage.
5. Ingredient-Specific Note
- CI 15850 (Lake) – a red pigment that may temporarily stain lips or skin. This is normal and not harmful. To remove, use an oil-based cleanser (not just water).
How to Apply (For Best Repair + Glaze Effect)
Step 1 – Prep (Maximizes Ceramide & Peptide Absorption)
- Gently exfoliate with a soft toothbrush or sugar scrub to remove dry flakes. The film formers need a smooth surface, or they will cling to dead skin and look patchy.
- Apply a thin layer of a water-based or SPF lip balm (optional, for sensitive lips). Wait 30 seconds. Do not use a heavy petroleum jelly – it will prevent the lipstick’s polymers from adhering.
Step 2 – Application Technique (The “Press & Glide”)
- Twist up only 2mm – the formula is soft and may break if over-exposed.
- First layer (for repair): Apply directly to the center of the lower lip, then press lips together gently. This warms the product and activates the squalane + ceramide melt.
- Second layer (for glaze finish): Glide the bullet from the Cupid’s bow outward to the corners in one continuous motion. Do not rub back and forth – that disturbs the polymer film and reduces shine.
Step 3 – Setting (Optional)
- For a non-feathering edge (especially for shades N668, N666, R112), use a clear lip liner just outside the vermilion border. The high Trimethylsiloxysilicate content makes the color slip-resistant, but mature lips may still bleed.
Step 4 – Removal (Preserves Lip Barrier)
- Do not wipe off with dry tissue (this pulls on delicate skin).
- Use an oil-based makeup remover or plain jojoba/coconut oil. Apply to a cotton pad, hold against lips for 10 seconds, then wipe gently downward. Follow with a water rinse to remove emulsifiers.
Step 5 – Nighttime Booster (For Intense Repair)
- Apply a thick layer of shade N668 (clear/neutral base) as a lip mask before bed. The combination of Palmitoyl Tripeptide-1, Ceramide NP, and Lactobacillus Ferment works overnight without the distraction of heavy color.
✅ Do
Apply in thin, even layers
Store away from direct heat/sunlight
Exfoliate once a week for smooth glaze finish
Use oil cleanser for removal
❌ Don’t
Twist up more than 2mm – soft bullet may snap
Layer over matte liquid lipstick – it will pill
Rub lips together repeatedly after application (breaks the glossy film)
