PRECAUTIONS
Conduct a Patch Test (Crucial for Sensitive Skin)
Before applying this to your face, test it on a small area of skin (like the inside of your elbow or behind your ear) and wait 24 hours to see if a reaction occurs.
-- Pigment Sensitivity: These formulas contain multiple colorants. Like CI 15850 (Red 7 Lake) and CI 19140; while rare, some individuals can be sensitive to these specific synthetic pigments.
-- Bismuth Oxychloride: This ingredient (present in all three shades) gives the blush its pearly sheen. However, it is known to cause itching or a prickly sensation in some people, particularly those with very sensitive skin.
Avoid Contact with Eyes:
These products are intended for the cheeks/face. Keep the powder away from your eyes. If fine particles get into your eyes, rinse immediately with plenty of clean water.
Do Not Apply to Broken or Irritated Skin:
Do not use this product on skin that has cuts, scrapes, sunburn, or active acne breakouts (unless approved by a dermatologist). Applying powder to broken skin can lead to irritation or infection.
Storage and Product Integrity:
-- Keep Dry: Since these powders contain Mineral Oil and binding agents, keep them away from direct moisture or steam (e.g., do not store them in the bathroom). Moisture can break down the binders in the pan, leading to a hard film on top of the powder ("hard pan") or bacterial growth.
-- Close Tightly: Always seal the compact after use to prevent the oils from drying out and to keep the powder free from dust.
Watch for Signs of Irritation:
Discontinue use immediately if you experience any of the following symptoms after application:
Redness or rash/Itching or stinging/Swelling/Breakouts in the area of application
Specific Ingredient Notes
-- Rosin (in CR741 & CR742): Also known as colophony, this is a resin used to help the powder stick. While great for longevity, Rosin is a known contact allergen for a small subset of people. If you have a known allergy to pine resin or adhesives (like bandages), you should avoid shades CR741 and CR742.
-- Mineral Oil: This is an occlusive agent used to give the powder a creamy feel. If you are prone to milia (small white bumps) or have extremely oily, acne-prone skin, be mindful of how your skin reacts to products containing mineral oil on the cheeks.
